Marketing How-To Kit
The most important part of utilizing the Genesis Fundraising program is how your organization initially informs your members / donors of the benefits of the program.
Once a member / donor has used the donation website, www.myonlinedonation.com, the task moves to continually reminding them that each calendar month brings another opportunity to qualify your group for the Genesis random donation opportunity if, in fact, your organization sells a minimum of one hundred (100) units of products.
We have listed ten (10) different ways to communicate with your donor population. As we work with other organizations throughout the country, we will document additional methods that work well to improve this very important process.
- Post Signs
If your membership regularly meets in a common area, you may want to post a notice that informs interested members of our program, especially if your goal is to sell a minimum of one hundred (100) units each month to qualify for the random donation awards. [SAMPLE]
- Meeting Announcement
Whenever your membership holds a group meeting, you may want to announce the outline of the program and how interested members can participate. [SAMPLE]
- Viral Email Marketing
If your organization has members email addresses on file, the easiest and fastest way to both inform and remind interested member / donors is through a structured email campaign. This strategy creates no limits as to where potential donors are located due to the open-endedness of the internet.
If ten (10) members send ten (10) people each an email, who in turn are asked to send to ten (10) additional people, your organization has a potential donation pool of one thousand (1,000) people. Since all orders are taken over the internet, donors can live anywhere within the continental United States and still order products for your benefit.
Also, ask potential donors to designated www.myonlinedonation.com on their favorite list on their home computer. [SAMPLE]
- Reoccurring Genesis Reminder / Thank You Email
As part of our standard program, Genesis sends out a monthly email to your organization's past donors, thanking them for their help in the past and reminding them that your organization is interested in qualifying for that month's random donation program by selling a minimum of one hundred (100) units of product. - Inserts to Take –
Home Packages
If your organization uses take-home information packages to inform members of upcoming events, you can use this opportunity to place an insert into the envelope. This method can easily be used in a school setting to help parents understand the program benefits. [SAMPLE]
- Refrigerator Magnet / Hanging
There is an old saying in sales and marketing – if it's on the refrigerator at home, it gets done.
Your organization may want to distribute a magnet size information sheet and ask that interested members place the handout on the refrigerator as a constant reminder that your organization wishes to raise money each month through product sales and qualify for a random Genesis donation. [SAMPLE]
- Auto – Registration through Organization's Website
Another way to help interested member / donors use our program is to link your website to our product selection website with a fundraising icon that, once an interested donor clicks on, instantly brings the donor to our website and automatically pre-registers your organization as the group they wish to donate. - Monthly Unit Sales Tally Sheet Posting
If your organization is using our program to raise a specific amount of money each and every month, or is just interested in making sure that you reach the one hundred (100) units sold requirement, a monthly tally sheet posting keeps people informed and motivated.
Whether your organization uses a paper poster stationed in a common area, or uses your website to update your member / donors of both funds raised and unit sales goals, this method keeps everyone involved in the process and rewarded when their efforts pay off with a randomly selected donation from Genesis Fundraising. - Weekly Bulletin Insert
Most religious organizations have a weekly bulletin / newsletter pass out that acts as an information medium to members. [SAMPLE]
- Information Post on Organization's Website
All nonprofit organizations recognize the need to continually raise money to further the mission of their cause. Your website can be a wonderful tool to impress upon your members the need to participate in a continuous fundraising program such as ours.
We would suggest that if you use this approach, you incorporate addition suggestions contained within this section and attempt to create a real ongoing interest in your membership to, at the very least, make sure that your organizations qualifies each and every month for a potential $25,000.00 random donation.
Certainly, your organization does not want to be in a position to miss the opportunity to qualify simply because your group came up a few items short this month. [SAMPLE]
